The Second Hotel in Gatwick Airport by Bloc Hotels

News Bloc Hotels, which main concept of accommodation came from pod-style rooms in Japan, is to open its second hotel in Gatwick Airport, the UK. The property will start operating in autumn 2013 and will have 244 bedrooms.

The cost of the new project is £12m. The hotel will be located in the former building of Norfolk House. The building is adjacent to the South Terminal of the airport, so the new hotel is likely to become popular with visitors of the airport. The hotel will be developed and operated in accordance with a long-term leasehold agreement between Bloc Hotels and Gatwick Airport.

Bloc Hotels have also reported that the company will expand its hotel in Birmingham opened in April 2011. New 24 apartment-style rooms intended for a long-term stay will be added to the property.

The conversion of a building in Gatwick airport into a hotel will include the use of pre-manufactured wall systems that form guestrooms and corridors. All the rooms will be also equipped with factory manufactured bathrooms, soundproofing systems by Samsung, modern lightning by Italian Artemide, and Egyptian cotton linens.

According to the founder of Bloc Hotels, Rob Morgan, the opening of the new hotel will “revolutionise” Gatwick Airport and the services it offers. Modern high-quality guestrooms with elegant design, great service and the choice of facilities worth a five star property are hardly to be found in a hotel at an airport. Moreover, Bloc Hotels offers all these at highly affordable rates, so the property is likely to win devotion of numerous guests.

Bloc Hotels plans to expand its network of hotels in major transport hubs both in the UK and internationally.
