London’s Café Royal, an iconic place opened in 1865, has changed its status several times since its foundation. It was a brasserie, headquarters of the National Sporting Club, and even an event space. Now London’s Café Royal has been turned into a luxury hotel, which is to open December 4.
The hotel will become a part of The Set – a collection of contemporary hotels by Alfred and Georgi Akirov. Currently, The Set includes the Oddenino Hotel, County Mark House, and Café Royal.
Four years of renovation have changed the design of the building. Now the hotel has 159 guestrooms with oak floors, historical details in design, and copperlight doors. There are also 6 suites, each of which has its distinctive features. For example, the Empire Suite is equipped with a private massage room. The Dome Suite is located under the copper dome of the building, and comes with two private terraces. Guests of the suite can enjoy amazing views of Big Ben and Piccadilly Circus, which can be seen from the terraces.
London’s Royal Café has several restaurants that will easily fit any taste. Brasserie serves casual cuisine; the Domino and Grill Rooms are bigger and feature a wider range of dishes. All the restaurants were restored by Donald Insall Associates. There will also be newly built dining facilities – Café 1865 and the private Café Royal Club. The hotel includes five meeting rooms and the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre.
