InterContinental Group has just signed an agreement with Kuwait-headquartered organization Almadina Real Estate Development concerning the opening of the first Crowe Plaza hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE.
The resort will be located on the artificially made Marjan Island. Beneficial location and beautiful seaside views make this resort a wonderful choice for both business and leisure tourists. The hotel, which is expected to open in 2015, will be a large complex with the total area of more than 18,000 sq. m., and will include nine restaurants and beverage outlets. Among them guests will be welcome to visit a huge all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen, a special terrace for dining, a nightclub, cigar lounge, pool bar and even a traditional bar. Business visitors will surely enjoy wide array of services offered by the trained Crowne Plaza team and excellent meeting facilities. The territory of the resort will also include a spa center, beauty salon, fitness center, and even a nursery.
The resort will be located on the manmade Marjan Island, the total square of which estimates 2.7 million sq. m. that were claimed from water. Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is very close to the island, and Dubai is approximately an hour away, so IHG hopes to attract both local UAE and international tourists.
When opened, the resort will be the second IHG managed resort in Ras Al Khaimah, as one InterContinental hotel will open on the island in 2014. Currently there are more than 64 Crowne Plaza-branded hotels in 60 countries of the world. 5 Crowne Plaza are located in the UAE, and 18 more are in the global pipeline.
