Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has reported the signing of a new deal. The company will open a new hotel in Shanghai in 2015. The property will be managed in accordance with the agreement with OCT Group. The latest property by the hotelier was Bulgari hotel in London that was opened this May. Besides this property the company has accommodations in Milan and Bali that were opened in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
The hotel in Shanghai will be a part of a large metropolitan complex located near the river. The hotel will be a part of a mixed use development in Suhe Creek – a beautiful heritage zone in the district of Zhabei that is under governmental protection.
The 40-storey building of the complex is developed by Foster + Partners architecture firm and is currently under development. The hotel will occupy 12 upper floors of the building, and will have 120 guestrooms and suites. One of the suites will be the signature 400 sq. m. Bulgari suite. The territory of the hotel will also include a ballroom, Spa centre, and a restaurant serving Italian cuisine on the roof of the building. Another restaurant with Chinese food will be opened in the historical building on the site of the development. The building, the construction of which ended in 1900, was used as an office of Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
Bulgari is a well-known fashion brand, and so there’s no wonder why the company has decided to open a hotel in Shanghai. According to the company’s representative, they are very interested in this market for luxury goods and want to open more Bulgari hotels in other Asian destinations.
