From now Hilton has lost one of its hotels in Paris as the internationally famous hotelier cannot manage its iconic hotel in the heart of the capital of France. This is the result of the claim filled by SIHPM that took the matter to court.
SIHPM, a real estate and hotel firm, is the owner of Hilton Arc de Triomphe hotel. The company concluded a management contract with Hilton in 2003. SIHPM went to court because of “serious violations” of obligations of Hilton. As SIHPM states Hilton under-exploited the hotel that works as a four-star accommodation when it should be a five-star one. Therefore, the owner sought ways to end the contract.
According to the conclusion of the commercial court, there are really some “breaches” in work of Hilton, so SIHPM is given three months to finish all business with the famous hotelier. According to an independent expert, SIHPM also claims a monetary compensation the size of which is up to 60 million euros.
Hilton manages 4 hotels outside Paris. These are hotels in the two main airports of the city and in Versailles. Hilton Arc de Triomphe was the only Hilton hotel in the centre of the city.
