A Monastery in Amalfi Coast is Turned into a Hotel

There is one fact that makes this hotel very special – the building of the hotel is originally a monastery of the 17th century. The designers of the hotel had a target not to change the look of the hotel significantly, so its main theme is asceticism coupled with contemporary design and cosiness. Monastero Santa Rosa consists of 20 large guestrooms and suites that face the sea. The hotel in Amalfi is also equipped with a swimming pool, a spa centre, and wonderful gardens. The monastery has been used to grow herbs, many of which can still be found there, so all guestrooms are named after them.

The hotel has a truly unusual location – one of its sides is built into a mountain. The hotel’s spa has retained much of the original building of the 17th century. Many walls and ceilings have not been touched at all. The treatments offered in the hotel’s spa are thermal suite, a herbal steam room, a wood sauna, an experience shower, a tepidarium, and a hydrotherapy pool.

Dining facilities are represented by the restaurant, which is also located in a historic building. There is also a poolside bar near the infinity pool. Moreover, the hotel has a 12th century chapel, which is an ideal place for weddings.
