Marriott International has re-launched the subdivision of its official website for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender customers. You can find it on www.marriott.com/gaytravel. The website is positioned as the first hospitality portal for LGBT travellers and it has really quickly become very popular among this group of tourists. Now the portal is available in 5 languages – the default English and French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
First launch of the portal took place in 2010. This was the result of “Marriott’s loyalty to all guests of its hotels”. The website is regularly updated with information concerning business, leisure and group travel for LGBT visitors. The portal has already won respect from the community as a trusted source of information, and news on this theme.
Visitors of the portal will be aware of all new and ongoing promotions for LGBT customers. They can read about new LGBT-friendly hotels, special events and hot deals. Moreover, there is a special section devoted to wedding and honeymoon packages with information about most popular destinations in the world. This is also a convenient way to find out about many events of LGBT movement as Marriott’s hotels often become the location of such meetings as Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, PFLAG, GLAAD, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and others.
Marriott is also a member of several organizations that fight for equal rights, for example, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce that supports LGBT businesses. The company is also valued high by the HRC Corporate Equality Index.
