Istanbul remains a hot place for investors and the opening of a new hotel in the old part of the city is just another proof. Mondrian Hotel is planned for opening in 2014, and it will be managed by Morgans according to a 20-year management agreement.
This is going to be the first hotel in Istanbul in the portfolio of Morgans Hotel Group. Istanbul, which is often called the bridge between Europe and Asia, is a popular destination for business and leisure travellers.
The new hotel will be located in the oldest part of the city, so it will feature direct access to all most important sights of the city, such as Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, the Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque), trading centers and best restaurants. The hotel will have 128 guestrooms, a spa center, exclusive food options, and function space. The original building is former Turkish baths.
This is not the only project in the hotelier’s pipeline. Morgans has also announced the opening of hotels in London, Doha and Nassau.
