Four Seasons Hotels Inc., the internationally famous hotelier with 85 accommodations worldwide, is told to have plans concerning the opening of a new hotel in Okinawa, Japan. The property will be managed by the company and may open in the beginning of 2014.
The hotelier, which is headquartered in Toronto, is now in the process of negotiations with partners and investors. As Christopher Hart, the president of the Asia Pacific branch of Four Seasons Hotels Inc., mentions in his interview, the company is genuinely interested in opening the property on the main island of Okinawa, and considers Japan an attractive market for development.
Four Seasons has been operating for over than two decades on the territory of Japan. Its first property in the country was Chinzan-so hotel in Tokyo. Another property in the capital of Japan managed by the company is a 57-key hotel in Marunouchi – one of the most famous and most expensive business districts of the city.
Four Seasons is not the only company that is interested in Okinawa. The hotelier’s rivals, such as Marriott International Inc. and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., also plan to open hotels in Okinawa in 2012.
