Hilton has concluded an agreement with Nehru Place Hotels, according to which the internationally famous hotelier will manage a hotel in Nehru Place, New Delhi. This property was previously operated by InterContinental and was named InterContinental Eros Nehru Place.
Prior to changing the managing organization, the property will undergo a complete refurbishment totally sponsored by Nehru Place Hotels. The company will upgrade all facilities that include the hotel’s guestrooms, conference and meeting space, dining facilities, recreational areas and more. This will be done to fit the standards of Hilton Worldwide.
According to Martin Rinck, the president of Hilton Asia Pacific, the company is happy to sign this agreement as the hotel is located in a strategically advantageous region. Currently India is one of key markets for Hilton, and the famous hotelier wants to double its portfolio in the country. At the moment Hilton manages 5 hotels in India’s 3 cities. These are hotels in Chennai, Janakpuri, and Mumbai International Airport. In 2011 five more hotels in India will greet their first guests.
