Radisson Edwardian has started a new campaign for people who spend much time in social networks. Now guests of all its hotels across the UK can check out with a 2 hour delay in case they mention online the hotel they are staying in.
This system currently works with Facebook and Foursquare. The whole process is very simple – users open Facebook Places, click on the “check in” button and the system automatically tracks their location and posts it, making it visible to other users. The idea belongs to the marketing agency named iSpy that actively uses social networks for promotion.
Radisson Edwardian’s director of revenue and distribution Lisa Smith tells they have been working over this concept for over a year. The company has been checking several ways of connecting with guests and rewarding them for choosing Radisson Edwardian.
Of course, by letting customers to stay late the hotelier accumulates additional costs, but at the same time it gets free advertising, so the campaign is worth launching.
The campaign has started a couple of weeks ago and will last till the end of this month. The number of participants is not limited, even though right now the campaign runs in a “test” mode. According to the hotelier, if the campaign is successful, Radisson Edwardian may make it a permanent service.
Radisson Edwardian is a UK hotelier which runs 14 hotels. 13 hotels are in London and an accommodation in Manchester. The hotelier is a subsidiary of the famous Radisson Hotels Group.
