IHG China adds 1,773 guestrooms to pipeline in this country due to new contract with Poly Real Estate Group Co. Ltd. The famous hotelier will open 6 hotels in China under 3 brands.
Currently China is the biggest hotel development destination, so many internationally famous hoteliers try to strengthen their positions on the market. IHG is not new on this market and at the moment the hotelier enhances its presence on the secondary markets of the country. All hotels will be located in Jiangxi and Guangdong provinces. Here IHG will open 3 hotels under the InterContinental brand, 2 hotels under the Crowne Plaza brand and 1 Holiday Inn.
IHG officials they are very happy with the deal and hope to continue partnership with such famous and influential real estate developers as Poly Real Estate. Poly Real Estate is the state-owned real estate company that occupies leading positions with 119 subsidiaries located in 35 cities throughout China. As a rule this developer partners with Chinese companies only. IHG is the only international partner of Poly Real Estate. IHG will manage 9 hotels of the developer, so this can be considered a sign of trust for the company that operates on the Chinese market for three decades.
The hotels owned by Poly Real Estate and managed by IGH are the 450-key InterContinental hotel in Foshan, the 350-key Crowne Plaza Chengdu Poly Garden (will open later this year), and Crowne Plaza Chongqing Poly Garden (300-key, scheduled to open in 2013).
The new 6 hotels: Holiday Inn Guangzhou Science City (253-key, will open in 1024), InterContinental hotel in Guangzhou Exhibition Centre (300-key, opens in 2014), InterContinental hotel in Foshan Dongping (300-key, opens in 2014), Crowne Plaza Hailing Island (320-key, opens in 2014), Crowne Plaza Nanchang Wanli (300-key, opens in 2014), InterContinental hotel in Shunde (300-key, will open in 2015).
