Marriott International will open new hotel in Istanbul under its new brand Edition created in collaboration with Ian Schrager. The hotel in the capital of Turkey will become the first property by this brand in Europe. Currently there is only one hotel by this brand – The Waikiki Edition that was opened in October 2010. The Istanbul Edition is designed by New York-based firm Gabellini Sheppard and is told to have completely different design.
The new hotel will be located in the Levent suburb of Istanbul. Besides magnificent skyline this district is famous for a large Kanyon mall.
The creators of The Istanbul Edition tell the hotel is created in accordance with the national spirit and its geographic location is taken into consideration in developing this accommodation. Designers have tried to create a place that would reflect both Eastern and Western influences in the country.
The hotel will occupy a 13-story tower and will have 77 guestrooms. Made primarily in bronze and white gold shades, the hotel will feature a Gold bar with VIP zone, Cipriani restaurant, a Spa center with hammam, an indoor swimming pool, a nightclub, a private screening room and meeting and event space of 3,000 sq. ft.
