Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of a hotel in Nanjing, China, in 2012. The location of Fairmont Nanjing is very advantageous – the property will be organized in a luxurious 56-story complex JinAo Plaza built in the famous commercial district Hexi New Town. The complex will feature a hotel, office and functional space, as well as residential area. Fairmont will open a hotel according to a franchise agreement with Jiangsu Golden Land Group Real Estate Development Col Ltd. – a Nanjing-headquartered real estate company.
The hotel will have 371 guestrooms; dining facilities are represented by several restaurants. On the territory of the hotel will be located a 1,800 sq. m. large Willow Stream Spa, a fitness center, and a pool. Fairmont Nanjing will also feature several meeting and negotiations rooms and 2,500 sq. m. of function space.
Today many hoteliers see their key goal in expanding portfolio in China – one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Currently JinAo is one of the leading projects in Nanjing, so there’s no wonder why Fairmont president Chris Cahill calls this agreement a success.
Nanjing is one of the key cities in China. It is attractive to both business and leisure tourists. Business travellers usually visit the city as this is a large commercial center, and leisure tourists are attracted by large number of historical sights (Nanjing is included in World Heritage list by UNESCO). The city will also play host to the Summer Youth Olympics 2014.
This is going to be the forth hotel by Fairmont in China as currently the company has opened Fairmont hotel in Beijing, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake hotel in Kunshan, and Fairmont Peace hotel in Shanghai.
