Marriott Opens New Hotels in Europe Under Autograph Collection Brand

Marriott will open 4 new hotels in Spain under Autograph collection brand. Until now this brand is not present on the territory of Europe.

The properties will open already this May. These will be the 50-key Autograph Collection Santo Mauro hotel in Madrid, the 75-key Autograph Collection Palacio de Santa Paula hotel in Granada, the 50-key Autograph Collection Palacio del Retiro hotel in Madrid and the 102-key Autograph Collection Baqueira Hotel & Spa hotel in Baqueira.

These hotels will be opened under collaboration between two companies – Marriott and AC Hotels. Both companies have agreed on creating a new brand – AC Hotels by Marriott. Soon all properties by AC Hotels – over 86 hotels – will be fully rebranded. After this step Marriott will be able to expand its European portfolio by launching hotels in Italy, Portugal and Spain.

According to Amy McPherson, the president of Marriott International in Europe, the company is happy to launch this partnership. AC Hotels is a dynamically developing company that has a good portfolio in Europe. Every hotel under the AC Hotel brand perfectly fits Marriott concept, so both companies expect ambitious growth.

Current aim of Marriott is to double its portfolio globally. With addition of the properties by AC Hotels and other collaborations the company is about to add a quarter of its current portfolio.

Autograph Collection is surely less known than Marriott. The company debuted just a year ago. This is an independent company that owns hotels by several brands mostly in upscale in luxury segments. Probably, the most famous hotel owned by this company is The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. AC Hotels also plans to open around 40 accommodations this year.
