During this year several popular upscale hotels in Thailand will change their managing organizations and, thus, their names as well.
The first property to swap its flag will be the Langham Place Samui that will join Dusit International Group already this month. After this the hotel will be renamed to Dusit Samui. In July Sheraton Grande Laguna hotel in Phuket will be rebranded to Angasana – this brand is owned by the Singapore-based hotelier named Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts.
These are not all changes. Soon Radisson hotel in Bangkok will be flagged under the luxury brand Anantara owned by Minor International. This is not the only end of contract with Carlson. Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn, which is located just nearby the abovementioned one, will also change its managing organization and choose the Golden Tulip brand. The Garden Cliff Pattaya drops its managing organization in favor of Radisson. Atsudo Group’s managed property Away Suansuwan in Chiang Mai will be managed by Centara Hotels and Resorts in the nearest future. Finally, Pan Pacific Bangkok most probably will be soon turned to Crowne Plaza at Lumpini.
These are really big changes on Thai market. Many owners of hotels have had contracts with famous international managing organizations for 10 years. Now the time of these contracts has expired, so no wonder why owners revise agreements and seek better conditions or try to reposition their properties.
