The Accor Hotel Group continues to expand its network via franchising. Using the franchise business system, the group has just opened its first two hotels in Spain in the province of Asturias. Both of them, Hotel Ibis and an Etap Hotel, are located in the city of Oviedo in the area known as Prados de la Fuente.
The Hotel Ibis offers 110 rooms, wireless internet connection and a breakfast served between 4 AM and noon. The second one, an Etap Hotel, features 90 rooms that can accommodate from two to three people. Now, with opening of these two hotels, the French hotel group manages and franchises already 11 hotels in Spain and plans to continue expanding via the franchising system in the near future. Its business plan includes such cities as Toledo, Albacete, León, Lugo, Orense, Santander, Merida, Cádiz and Almería.
Currently, Accor manages 74 city hotels with a total of 8 717 rooms in Spain. It is represented here by its brands - Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, ibis, Etap and Formule1.
