Carlson Hotels plans to open its first hotel in Wuxi, the city in between Beijing and Shanghai. Located in the middle of the city's high-tech district, the hotel is scheduled to open in 2012. This new complex will include a 196-room hotel, five villas, 21 suites and 170 rooms.
Owned by Wuxi Wu Culture Expo Park Construction and Development Company Limited and managed by Carlson, the hotel features an extensive array of services and leisure facilities, including specialty restaurants that serve local and international cuisines, conference rooms, function rooms, a ballroom, swimming pools, fitness centers, and more.
Because it is erected on the shores of Lake Tai, the hotel is often called 'Pearl of Lake Tai'. It is located close to one of the world's most beautiful historic sights - the Meili Ancient Town and Temple of Wu – and in the proximity of Wuxi international airport and the newly built railroad station on the railroad connecting Beijing to Shanghai. For this reason, the new hotel is expected to attract business and leisure travelers from all over the world.
