Kos Island is a good place to relax with children of any age. There is everything to diversify the pastime of both a child and an adult: two water parks, several beautiful beaches with clean water of various degrees of "civilization", a hydrogen sulfide source, monuments of history and Antiquity, and the Middle Ages, and later eras. Add to this a nice climate, close to the European one, and the overall dimension of the island life, and get the ideal conditions for a full of impressions vacation with the child.

The aqua park Lido in the north of the island is slightly larger than the size of Aquatica Water Park, which is located next to Kardamena, but both are worth visiting. In the Kardamena area, take your child to Rafael's Horse Riding. You can continue to communicate with the animals that inhabit the island in Plaka Forest, located 30 km from the capital of Kos. The peacocks, long accustomed to human society and accepting food from the hands of people with pleasure, live here. It is not forbidden to feed birds here. Kids will have fun at most of the hotels’ own beaches: every self-respecting hotel has a couple of attractions. Older children can try themselves in surfing and windsurfing, snorkeling or diving. A child of any age will like the trip to the castle of the Knights-Johannites. Even if the building has suffered from time, the fortress has still not lost its former greatness. Here you can see how the real knights of the past years lived, and there is a great view of the island from the powerful walls, which for centuries were a barrier to the enemies. Young knights and princesses will also like the Venetian fortress of Antimachia and Paleo Pyli in the depth of the island, which for a long time was the capital of Kos, and now is completely abandoned.

At the castle’s entrance you can find one of the symbols of the island – the sycamore of Hippocrates. The tree itself, however, had not exactly seen the great healer, as it grows here for only five centuries. Nevertheless, local residents are sure that this sycamore tree is a descendant of the very tree, under whose crown the scientist instructed his disciples in medicine. There is another object on the island, which is directly connected to Hippocrates – Asklepion. It is believed that it was here, in the temple of the god Asclepius, where the great doctor and founder of modern medicine comprehended, and later taught the basics of the medical knowledge.

Even a small child will be impressed by the antiquity and beauty of Asklepion. Even if the temple and the clinic are partially destroyed, the contours of the two-thousand-year-old buildings are still unmistakably recognizable. The Casa Romana Villa will also impress the little admirers of antiquity. Even if the whole building has not preserved, it was completely recreated recently according to old drawings and testimonies of historians. A child will probably be interested in the remains of the ancient 5th-century basilica in the village of Agios Stefanos, which are located right on the beach. In short, Kos will give children unforgettable emotions and much new historical knowledge. There are also all the conditions here for cycling even with the youngest children.
