Marriott International has added one more property to its Chinese portfolio. The famous hotelier has opened a new hotel in Shanghai that is an increasingly popular destination for both business and leisure guests. Shanghai Marriott Hotel Pudong South is the seventh hotel by Marriott in this Chinese city.
The new hotel is a wonderful choice for all guests who want to enjoy exquisite service, comfortable rooms, fine cuisine, and flexible meeting and event space in Southeast Shanghai. Marriott hopes that the new hotel will become a perfect option for both business and leisure guests. This opening is also a symbol of recovery for the hotel market that has been greatly struck by the coronavirus pandemic.
When developing the look of the future hotel, the design team had an idea of underlining the greenery of the Pudong District. The core idea of the new Marriott hotel in Shanghai was to create a space that would let guests feel connected with nature. This is done through the generous use of natural materials such as wood, leather, marble, and fabrics. Locally produced hemp ropes and custom-made furniture create a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere.
The hotel features 241 rooms, all of which come with sitting areas, walk-in closets, and round-shaped office desks. Upscale travelers will be interested in booking one of the 6 Executive Rooms or 33 Premier Rooms with fantastic views of Shanghai. Each room is a thoughtful combination of comfort and creativity. They offer such modern amenities as high-speed Wi-Fi, HDTV, and plush bedding. Family rooms have such important amenities as rocking chairs, toys, mini tents, bathing amenities for children, small bathrobes, and so on.
Guests are welcome to check-in and check-out using the mobile application and use their smartphones as hotel room keys. Dining at the new Marriott hotel in Shanghai is represented by GOJI Kitchen Bar, an all-day restaurant with live cooking stations; Man Ho, a Chinese-themed restaurant that specializes in Cantonese cuisine with a Shanghai touch; and Smoki Moto, a Korean barbecue and East Asian cuisine restaurant with many exquisite dishes and fine sushi. For events of different sizes, Marriott has two pillarless big ballrooms and four function rooms that are suitable for smaller meetings. The hotel’s infrastructure also includes a 24-h fitness center and an indoor swimming pool.
