To ensure proper cleanliness and disinfection of Hilton hotels worldwide, the famous hotelier announced a new program that will meet the rising needs for clean rooms and public spaces due to the coronavirus outbreak. For this purpose, Hilton decided to partner with several leading companies in the area, such as Dettol, Lysol, and Mayo Clinic. Together, the companies deliver the much needed disinfecting products and provide training to make sure that hotel guests are safe from check-in to check-out.
The name of the new program may differ in certain parts of the world. For example, it is officially called Hilton CleanStay with Lysol in North America. While Lysol is responsible for the delivery of disinfecting products, the Infection Prevention team from Mayo Clinic will help Hilton to change its cleaning protocols to meet the current needs. The new program will be spun over more than 6,100 hotels working under 18 brands by Hilton. The new initiative covers not only hotel rooms but also restaurants, fitness centers, and other public areas.
The new program is currently in the process of development, so more details are to be announced later. At the moment, Hilton has revealed only the main aspects of the new cleaning protocol. The company plans to develop in several major aspects to ensure safety and protect both the guests and hotel staff. It doesn’t matter whether you choose to stay at a Hilton hotel in Amsterdam or a hotel in Beijing, the safety measures will be similar. First of all, the company plans to add special protective seals to rooms. These seals indicate that the room was properly cleaned and no one has accessed it since that time, so it is safe to enter it.
Hilton will also add more single-use amenities like pens, paper, shampoos, etc. All public spaces will be cleaned more often. In guest rooms, extra attention is paid to high-touch areas such as door handles, switches, thermostats, TV remote control, and so on. These areas are due to extra disinfection. All public areas with high traffic are going to have disinfectants installed. For example, hotel guests can get a special disinfecting wipe in front of the elevator and use it to touch the button.
Fitness centers require special attention. Hilton plans to close them several times a day for cleaning. Moreover, there will be a limited number of visitors allowed to stay in the fitness room simultaneously. To eliminate unnecessary contacts with potentially contagious objects, Hilton is going to offer contactless check-in and check-out. Digital room keys will be downloaded to mobile devices.
