Malaysia is one of the emerging destinations that have been attracting an increasing number of guests from all over the world in recent years. Kuala Lumpur hotels serve more guests than ever these days. The country doesn’t want to stop and plans to keep developing its tourism industry. The Visit Malaysia Year 2020 campaign sets a new target and an important milestone 30 million tourists a year.
The country has the potential to reach this because 2020 will be a year packed with interesting and exciting events that may attract even more guests to the country. Moreover, next year will be special for all Malaysians since they will be celebrating the anniversary of their homeland and the transformation of the colonial territory into an independent and developing country.
The official introduction of the Visit Malaysia 2020 Campaign took place in Penang less than two weeks ago. During the event, Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik (Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister) said the government was confident in success. They want every citizen in Malaysia to participate in this mission. These 30 million guests will bring RM100 billion in tourism revenues, boosting the economy of local communities and the country in general. Malaysia can offer a range of interesting destinations and activities for its guests. For example, Langkawi hotels are perfect for beach recreation and snorkeling while tourists interested in colonial architecture should book a hotel in Penang.
The minister encouraged all businesses and people of Malaysia to help the country become an even more popular destination. Muhammad Bakhtiar thinks that attention to even small details and high-quality services will help tourists to have a fantastic vacation in Malaysia, so they will want to return and recommend the country to their friends. He named the main factors that tourists want, such as safety, kindness, comfortable transportation, cleanliness, and personal approach.
This is not the first time that Malaysia hosts a “Visit Malaysia” year. The 2020 campaign will be the fourth since 1990. Each year has its unique highlights. Next year, there will be more events focused on traditional batik, the national flower, and hornbill. Malaysia has a rich culture and wants to share it with the world, showcasing it with pride.
