Radisson Hotel Group has Radisson-branded properties in many countries of the world, so it is a surprise that there is no hotel by this brand in Germany. Radisson decided to change this, and so it has recently signed a contract for launching a hotel in Rostock. The first Radisson hotel in Germany will open in Q3 2022. This will help to strengthen the position of the group and open new possibilities for other brands in the portfolio of the hotelier.
The new hotel has a fantastic location right in the heart of the Hanseatic university city. Guests can enjoy the 800-year-old architecture of the place and fabulous views of the port. Many international tourists might not know about Rostock. Nevertheless, the city welcomes two million overnight guests every year. It has well-developed high-tech and maritime industries, as well as the famous University of Rostock. It is safe to say that Rostock is one of the most important economic hubs in Northern Germany.
The upscale Radisson hotel Rostock will feature the signature Scandinavian hospitality and will be definitely a worthy addition to the Radisson Blu hotel in Rostock that is already operating in the city. With this new agreement, the German portfolio of the group grew to 35 hotels with a total of more than 8,800 rooms operating and under development. The hotelier’s long-term partner, Friedemann Kunz Family Foundation, will work together with Radisson over the new hotel.
The Radisson Hotel in Rostock will have over 190 guestrooms and will offer all signature elements of the brand. There will be an all-day dining restaurant, a brewery bar at the top, a modern gym, and a lounge area in the lobby. As Rostock is an important business hub, the hotel will have the much-needed functionality for business guests, such as 300sqm of meeting space, a business center, and boardrooms.
The location of the new hotel deserves a separate mention. The new hotel will be conveniently nested in the new inner-city development in the harbor of Rostock. It will take a few steps to reach the center of the city from the hotel, so leisure tourists may also find the hotel very attractive as they have simple access to shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The distance from the main train station is 2.3km. From this station, travelers can reach such German cities as Hamburg and Berlin within just two hours. The distance to Rostock Airport is 30 kilometers.
