Two New Hyatt Regency Hotels are Set to Open in Spain
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that it has signed a franchise agreement regarding the opening of two hotels, namely, Hyatt Regency Hesperia hotel in Madrid and Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira. The hotels will be opened in collaboration with Hesperia Hotels & resorts. The new openings only prove the interest of the hotel company in Spain and its continued growth in the country.
Both hotels are not newly built. They are currently in the process of refurbishment in order to meet the brand’s standards and will be added to the portfolio of Hyatt in June 2019. Full refurbishment of Hesperia Barcelona Tower and Hesperia Madrid Hotel (the current names of the hotels) will be finished in the fourth quarter of 2019. After the opening of hotels in Barcelona and Madrid, the number of hotels in the Spanish portfolio of Hyatt will reach five. The two new hotels will join the already operating Hyatt Centric Gran Via hotel in Madrid, Park Hyatt hotel on Mallorca, and the announced Hotel Sofia Barcelona.
Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid will enjoy a fantastic location on the Paseo de la Castellana, one of the most iconic avenues in the city. It will have 170 rooms of different level and will appeal to both business and leisure travelers because of close proximity to business centers, banks, historic landmarks, and luxury shops. To the service of business guests, the hotel will offer a club lounge and several meeting rooms. Dining options are represented by a restaurant specializing in local cuisine and a bar.
The second hotel, Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira, is a bigger one. It has 280 rooms and is located on the Avinguda de la Granvia. The hotel is close to not only the Barcelona–El Prat Airport but also the city’s financial and shopping areas. This makes Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira a wonderful choice for both leisure and business guests. Among the attractions of the hotel, it is important to mention a bar on the top floor of the building that offers tremendous panoramic views of Barcelona’s skyline. The hotel also features meeting rooms, a club lounge, a lobby area, and unique dining facilities.
These new additions only underline the importance of Spain as a hospitality market for major hoteliers. Hyatt has been looking into new hotels to add to its portfolio, and Hesperia was a great choice as its hotels have a wonderful location that appeals to both leisure and business travelers.
