A Saudi Princess Becomes a Victim of Thieves in Paris

A Saudi princess whose name is kept in secret recently claimed that her jewelry was stolen. In total, items worth more than US$930,000 were stolen for the suite of the princess at the Ritz hotel in Paris. According to the princess, she left her suite leaving jewelry there. When she returned, the jewelry was already absent. She didn’t leave her precious items in the safe that is present in the room. There are no signs of someone breaking into the suite. At the moment, the Ritz hotel in Paris doesn’t give any comments on the matter.

This is not the first time when rich and famous people become victims of burglars. Moreover, it is not the first time when criminals choose the Ritz as their target. If the heist of the jewelry is confirmed, it will be the second time that the hotel appears in the criminal news. In January 2018, a team of burglars stole jewelry worth millions of dollars from the Ritz hotel in Paris. The jewelry was displayed in special cases that, however, couldn’t protect it from theft. Nevertheless, the police managed to catch almost all burglars involved. The total value of the lost jewelry was also recovered.

This part of Paris is known for armed thefts. The posh district of the city is home to many premium designer boutiques and jewelry stores that are located on the same streets, forming true areas of ultimate luxury. Naturally, such places attract not only people with big bank accounts.

Almost two years ago, in October 2016, reality star Kim Kardashian became a victim of burglars. Armed men broke into her room and stole jewelry worth millions of dollars. The hotel where the US star was robbed is located approximately 10 minutes by foot from the Ritz. While the police are investigating the jewelry theft from the Saudi princess, we can just wish them luck and hope that the city’s authorities will take stricter security measures in the city so that travelers feel safer there.
