Martinez Hotel in Cannes is Finally Open Again
Just in time for the Cannes Film Festival, Hyatt Hotels reopened the iconic Hotel Martinez. The property, which is a part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, has undergone a major renovation and has completely changed its look. The 409-room high-class hotel enjoys a prime location on Boulevard de la Croisette and is, without a doubt, one of the most recognizable hospitality venues on the French Riviera.
The popular hotel opened in the 30s of the previous century, and since that time it has welcomed many famous guests and participants of the festival. The much-needed renovation emphasized the glorious past of the hotel but made the design more up-to-date and in line with requests of modern travelers. Developed by Paris-based architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, the design of the Martinez hotel in Cannes is a fabulous mix of Art Deco with contemporary Mediterranean style.
After the renovation, the hotel got more dining venues. In addition to La Palme d’Or, the signature restaurant of the hotel awarded two Michelin stars, there are now a restaurant, a bar, and a dining terrace. Version Originale restaurant specializes in local cuisine, Le Martinez Bar is a great place to relax and enjoy a festive atmosphere, and an alfresco dining terrace is a charming place surrounded by a Mediterranean garden.
The hotel’s management says they tried to keep the original charm of the historic hotel, bringing new life to it but yet preserving the original glamorous atmosphere that Martinez was famous for. This is the second property in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in France, with hotel du Louvre in Paris being the first one. The Paris hotel is currently closed for renovation purposes.
All 409 rooms and suites in Martinez hotel in Cannes feature Art Deco style and overlook the city and the Mediterranean Sea. Each room has white lacquer furnishings with hints of blue and yellow colors. Two suites, Suite des Oliviers and the Penthouse Suite, have one of the largest private terraces in Europe. They offer a magnificent view of the Promenade de la Croisette. Guests of the hotel also have access to the Zplage private beach.
The L.RAPHAEL Beauty Spa offers a range of treatments for true relaxation and rejuvenation. There are also a fitness center and a sauna. A team of concierges is always ready to help guests. Travelers with kids will like the Kids Club with a range of entertaining and educational activities for children between 4 and 11 years old. Finally, business visitors will like 15 flexible meeting rooms and a large and functional event space.
