Nobu Comes to Barcelona

News The luxury lifestyle brand Nobu Hotels, which specializes in finest culinary and premium accommodation, announced the expansion of its European portfolio. The renowned brand will open a hotel in Barcelona, Spain, by the end of next year. Nobu Hotels, which is founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, will take over the management of Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya, which is currently closed for refurbishment purposes.

Once open, Nobu Barcelona will offer a mix of a hotel and restaurant. According to the company, innovation and imagination are the main qualities of the brand, and the philosophy of Nobu will be, of course, reflected in the new Barcelona hotel. The hotel will stay a part of the Selenta Group Collection and will get 250 guest rooms and suites, and various event and meeting options.

Barcelona is one of the top destinations in Europe, so there’s no wonder that Nobu was interested in bringing their aspirational lifestyle to the famous city. The brand already has a well-established chain of hotels in Spain – out of four European hotels by Nobu operating or under pipeline, three are located in Spain. Of course, the new Barcelona hotel will have a signature Nobu restaurant that will operate under a long-term contract with Nobu Hotels.

The first Nobu hotel in Catalonia, the Barcelona property is going to be the 13th Nobu Hotel worldwide. The company chose this property due to its great location and readiness of the Spain-based Selenta Group to redesign the hotel in order to fit international standards of the famous hotel company. The design for the new hotel was developed by Rockwell, a well-known architecture firm.

Of course, Nobu Restaurant will be one of the main elements of the hotel’s infrastructure. Located on top floors of the building, it will offer spectacular 360-degree views of the Catalan Capital. Despite 23 floors of rooms, the hotel will offer luxury accommodation, finest dining, and premium beverage along with excellent service.
