A Vienna based hotel developer WSF Group decided to change its sphere of interest and launch its own hotel brand called Alamanc Hotels. Currently, the company has a portfolio of seven hotels. Four properties will be rebranded in the nearest future, with the remaining three joining them later. All the hotels have beneficial location in the central part of each city and will be bound to local architecture and culture.
WSF Group has been building hotels for more than 20 years, so the decision to become a hotel operator was a natural step in the development of the company. The first property under the name Almanac Hotels will open in Barcelona in summer 2017. This will be a 92-guestroom property with a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, a lounge and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city. The 122-guestroom Almanac hotel in Vienna will be the next. It will open in the beginning of 2018 after a complete renovation. The hotel is located on the Ringstrasse and features a spa and a conference centre. The other two hotels that will be rebranded during the first step of development of the new brand are the Almanac hotel in Zagreb and the ultra-luxury Almanac hotel in Prague on the bank of the Vltava River. The company also announced that the 152-guestroom Almanac Tüköry hotel in Budapest will also join the new hotel brand later.
WSF Group is known for transforming buildings like hospitals and banks, as well as historic sights into high end hotels. The new hotel brand will be a luxury segment brand. The company decided to launch it because an independent operational structure is more efficient than paying management fees to other hotel management companies.
