Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced the start of its global initiative Taste of Place. The new program includes a series of immersive culinary and beverage experiences that allow both hotels guests and local residents enjoy “behind-the-scenes” practices. They will learn more about local culinary traditions, participate in gourmet food cooking and are welcome to try other authentic food and beverage making experiences.
Even though the program has started recently, there is already a big list of participating properties around the world. As a rule, hotels offer programs that are focused on different aspects of local food culture. Guests will learn more about local farmers, distillers, food vendors, mixologists and butchers. Experiences offered by participating Four Seasons hotels differ significantly they include deep sea fishing excursions, cocktail making classes and private tours to vineyards or breweries. Some hotels also offer dining outside in the places where guests will be able to enjoy unique setting and landscapes. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler in Canada is a good example of Taste of Place participant. The hotel offers helicopter flights to the Pemberton Icecap. The place is a famous 12,000 year old labyrinth of chambers made of ice. Later, crystal clear glacier ice is used at cocktail mixology classes. The class is followed by a dinner, where guests will be treated with local delicacies, and each delicacy is served with a special matching cocktail.
Taste of Place was launched in October 2016, and will last one year till October 2017. Participating hotels, start dates and experiences offered differ from venue to venue.
