Marriott will make its debut on the Singaporean hotel market with its Luxury Collection brand. The first property operating under the luxury brand will appear in 2017. It is reported that the hotel will be open in partnership with boutique developers Harpreet and Satinder Garcha. The Luxury Collection is an actively developing hotel brand with more than 100 hotels in 30 countries.
The Duxton Club hotel Singapore will be located in the Tanjong Pagar district. The hotel will be open in two existing buildings after a multi-million-dollar renovation. Developers promise to combine architectural heritage of the place with contemporary luxury experience in the new hotel. The new hotel buildings are located within walking distance, and both of them belong to pre-war colonial style and were constructed in the early 19th century. These are the Duxton House on Duxton Road and the Duxton Terrace on Murray Street. The buildings are adjacent to the Central Business District of Tanjong Pagar. This area attracts global travelers as one of most stylish neighborhoods for leisure and dining on the island. The Duxton House will greet first guests already in the beginning of 2017, and the Duxton Terrace will open a bit later in July 2017.
The Duxton House will have 50 guestrooms located in eight adjoining three-story buildings. The hotel will feature a restaurant, bar and private cigar room. The Duxton Terrace, which is located 600 feet away, will feature 138 guestrooms. This hotel will occupy fourteen adjoining four- and three-story buildings. The Duxton Terrace will have five food and beverage venues - a lobby bar, signature bar, poolside bar, an all-day dining restaurant and an exclusive club for members. Other facilities include a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, and cigar room. Guests are welcome to attend facilities of both the hotels.
