Waldorf Astoria changes the cuisine that is served at its hotels and now offers guests to try provincial Chinese cuisine. During the first stage of the project the authentic Chinese cuisine will be offered at the New York property of the hotelier on Manhattan, and later the list of properties serving it will be updated.
In order to make the design fit the dishes served, it was decided to make the café mostly in black and bronze shades with gold and blue accents. The heart of the restaurant is decorated with a dome and three-tiered chandelier, forming a round banquette zone. There is also a semi-private area separated from the main zone with custom screens. The bar also features a private lounge and private dining rooms.
The menu for the new bar at the Waldorf Astoria was developed by Jereme Leung. He collected traditional recipes from such Chinese regions as Shaanxi, Guangdong, and Shandong. Guests are welcome to try signature dishes of the place, such as Lychee Smoked Roast Crispy Chicken, Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper Glaze and Walnuts, BBQ Iberico Pork Neck with honey glaze, and more. Beverages at the bar offer not only wide choice of Chinese wines and beers, but also various spirits and cocktails from different parts of Asia. The hotelier thinks the new restaurant will become very popular with international visitors, foodies and everyone who likes to try something new.
