First Newly Built Radisson Red is to Open in Glasgow

Carlson Rezidor announced the opening of its first newly built Radisson Red hotel. The property will be located in Glasgow (UK). Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow will have 176 guestrooms and will be located next to the biggest exhibition centre in Scotland. The lifestyle select property will greet its first guests in 2017.

The new hotel in Glasgow will join the existing portfolio of the company in this city that includes two properties branded by Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson. These hotels follow the opening of Carlson Rezidor hotels in Asia, namely Radisson Red hotel in Shenyang, China, and a hotel in Africa. The hotel in Glasgow will become the first newly built hotel by the brand in Europe. Glasgow is known as one of strongest markets in Europe, and Radisson Red will bring new services and millennial inspired design to the city. The hotel brand will target mostly urban locations, and Radisson plans to open over 60 hotels worldwide by 2020.

The Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow is located in the West End of the city. The distance to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) is just 300m. Such famous business facilities as the Glasgow Science Centre, Financial Services District and the Glasgow Media Centre are located nearby, making the hotel a perfect choice for business travelers. In addition to 176 guestrooms, the Radisson Red will feature a restaurant, a bar, gym, meeting space of more than 100sqm, a gallery and 78 parking spaces.
