Carlson Rezidor announced the opening of its new hotel in Amsterdam. Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam will have 478 guestrooms and is set to open in 2016. The hotel will become the European flagship property of the famous hotelier.
The building for the hotel was purchased by a European-Israeli Omnam Investment Group from the German Europe 1 Fund. The concept of the hotel will be developed by the famous Dutch design company Moooi, and inner design is the work of Adam Smit from ZZDP Architects. The new hotel design and services will be targeted at travellers from Generation X and Y, and will include support for social interaction.
The hotelier considers Amsterdam one of its main destinations in Europe and wants to build strong presence there. Currently, the hotelier has five hotels with more than 1,000 hotel rooms in total operating and in pipeline. The abovementioned hotel will be located in a former headquarter building known as the largest vacant office building in Amsterdam. Conversion works that will turn the office complex into a hotel already started this month. The hotel will be located in western part of the city near the Sloterdijk Railway station, and so it will feature convenient access to the centre of the city and Schiphol Airport. The complex will also include retail and entertainment space. In addition to 478 guestrooms, the hotel will have over 4,000 sq. m. of event space, including a grand ballroom, a bar and a restaurant, a gym and 500 parking spaces.
