Marriott International announced recent changes in its Wi-Fi service rules and granted free basic Wi-Fi access to all members of the company’s loyalty program Marriott Rewards. The program currently has 47 million members, and all of them will be able to enjoy complimentary internet service when they book hotel rooms using official Marriott channels, such as Marriott website, toll free number, official mobile application or directly at the hotel.
The new service will become valid starting from January 15. Over 3,800 hotels in the global portfolio of Marriott will offer standard Wi-Fi access free of charge. At the same time, members of Marriott Rewards Platinum and Marriott Rewards Gold Elite members will enjoy free enhanced Wi-Fi access, in case this service is available in the hotel. Members with lower level in the program will be able to get the enhanced access on paid basis. Currently, the service is already offered in selected brands, such as Edition, Marriott Vacation Club, Moxy, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites, Courtyard, and SpringHill Suites. Starting from the abovementioned date the service will be available in Marriott Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, JW Marriott, Gaylord Hotels, and Marriott Executive Apartments. The same applies to the luxury partner of the hotelier, The Ritz-Carlton. The company representative commended they had decided to make standard free Wi-Fi access because of numerous requests from customers. Free Wi-Fi is another way to say thank you to loyal customers and attract travellers of new generation who cannot imagine their life without internet access.
