IHG has announced the new guestroom concept for its Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand. The design is very thoughtful and space efficient. It took the company several years to develop it and make really convenient room for business travellers. The rooms of next generation are the result of work of Pearson Lloyd and Future Agenda designers, who collaborated with the hotel brand during last two years.
The concept of the new guestroom has much in common with the so called “working triangle” of a chef’s kitchen in a restaurant. The guestroom has three main areas a cocooned bed, a streamlined workspace and a flexible nook, and guests can easily move from one area to another. The bed in such guestroom is angled and it has curved headboard. There are insulation panels near the bed, thanks to which the noise level in the new guestroom is reduced by 30%, so travellers will have better rest after a long working day. The nook is the zone where visitors can make informal meetings or simply relax. Finally, the workspace has outlets convenient to use with electronics and adjustable lightning. It has a drawer with a hairdryer inside and a mirror, so the workspace can be conveniently used for beauty needs.
The new guestroom will appear in the Americas next year, but steadily it will be launched in other regions as well.
