Dubai to Get a $1.4 Billion Resort

It has been reported that Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) together with Kerzner International will build a fantastic 46-story resort, with the cost of the project equal to US$1.4 billion. The dramatic building will be located in Dubai, near Atlantis The Palm.

The new resort will be called The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences. The 800-guestroom hotel will be located on the crescent of the Palm. In addition to that, the resort will include 250 luxury residences, the design of which was developed by Sybille de Margerie Design. The design of main building is the work of GA Design, and the building itself was developed by architect Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.

The developer introduces the hotel as a “revolutionary play between fire and water”. Guests will surely enjoy fantastic Sky Pool located approximately 90 meters above the island. From there, guest will enjoy stunning panoramic view of the marine. The first phase of the project is set to open in 2016.

The launch of so many big projects in Dubai makes some question, whether the demand can cover such fast growing hotel supply.
