Hyatt Hotels Corporation will open a hotel in a historic castle in Baden-Baden. The internationally famous hotel company will open a hotel in a 16th century castle in accordance with an agreement with Badriah Investments B.V.
The hotelier already expressed their delight with the deal, as now they can expand their presence in Germany and at the same time restore a local icon. Neues Schloss Baden-Baden will be the seventh hotel in Germany by Hyatt. The hotel will join Hyatt Regency hotel in Mainz, Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin, Hyatt Regency hotel in Dusseldorf, Park Hyatt hotel in Hamburg, Hyatt Regency hotel in Cologne, and Andaz Munich that is set to open in 2017.
In the 16th century the castle was a residence of Baden-Baden margraves military commanders, whose role was to protect the Roman Empire border. Later, it was turned into a residence of Grand Dukes of Baden. As the castle is known as Neues Schloss (New Castle), the hotel will take its name after the castle.
The hotel in Baden-Baden is set to open in 2018. The castle will undergo a complete renovation, during which 146 guestrooms will be added to it, as well as a bar, a restaurant, a fitness centre and a meeting and event space. During the renovation, the castle will also get a modern extension that will house a part of guestrooms, private apartments, a sauna, a pool, and a spa. Guests will also be able to enjoy stunning views of the city and Black Forest from hotel windows. Finally, as the hotel will offer over 55,000 square meters of parkland, it will be a wonderful place for leisure walks in beautiful nature.
