These days many hotels try to offer something unusual and unique in order to attract more visitors. Art in hotels has become quite common many hotels use their lobbies and other premises to exhibit modern art or works of local artists, and some hotels even dedicate special space to make small art galleries where visitors can see precious jewellery, antiques, pictures and other items.
Huvafen Fushi and Niyama hotel in the Maldives offers a truly unique way to enjoy art. They took art to the most unusual place the depths of the ocean. The exhibition of works by Andreas Franke is named Phantasy Fairytale, and there is only one way to attend it go under water. The art exhibition will be showcased in the Per Aquum properties until the end of May.
At the exhibition visitors will see photographs, digital art and nautical exploration that restore scenes from well-known fairy tales. You will see Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White in the waters of the Indian Ocean. Each artwork is thoroughly sealed with Plexiglas and put in steel frames. You don’t have to scuba dive in order to see the art exhibition as the hotel’s music club Subsix is located below the sea level and its huge windows provide great view of all the artworks. The same can be done from the underwater Lime spa at Huvafen Fushi.
If you like the artworks so much you don’t want to separate with them, you are welcome purchase the pictures. The prices start from US$12,000. Guests can also buy reprints, the prices for which start at US$4,800. A part of the profit got from purchases will be donated Coral Regeneration Program by Per Aquum.
