New Mobile App by Marriott Hotels with Simple Checkout

News These days more people use smartphones and, as a result, many companies release special applications for popular gadgets. Marriott Hotels is no exception, and so its Marriott Mobile is available for download. However, the company announced a brand new feature – mobile and checkout using the smartphone. Mobile check-in was announced a bit earlier. Currently, the feature is available for selected hotels, but their number is expected to grow. First all hotels in North America will offer this service, and later to the end of this year all 500 Marriott hotels worldwide will offer mobile check-in and checkout. Outside Americas, this service is available in 22 hotels.

Mobile checkout is available in five languages – English, Chinese, German, Spanish, and French. In order to enjoy simple check-in and checkout, one needs to be a member of Marriott Rewards program. According to the hotelier, their application has been downloaded more than 2.8 million times. Marriott mobile is available for Apple iPhone and Android devices.

The process of checkout is very simple. On the day of departure, your smartphone will send you a notification that it is possible to use mobile checkout. After this guests can use their smartphones to make a payment. The bill will be sent to the email provided during the checkout. That way, guests do not need to go to front desk and can simply leave the hotel.

Marriott Hotels introduced mobile check-in in summer 2013. First the system became available to guests of hotels in Canada and the US. During the test period more than 500,000 mobile check-ins were made, and hotel guests left many positive feedbacks. Another sought after service is notification that the booked room is ready. That way many guests feel less nervous about their travel. In future, Marriott plans to add more features to its mobile app. For example, it will allow guests to order extra amenities – pillows, towels, wake up calls, parking, etc.
