Hyatt announced the opening of its second European property under the Hyatt Place brand. Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes will join Hyatt Place Zurich Airport. The hotel is set to open in spring 2015. Other expansion projects of the brand include Hyatt Place hotels in Amsterdam Airport and hotels in Armenia, India, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
The new hotel in London Heathrow Airport will have 170 guestrooms, 168 sq. m. of meeting space, a modern fitness centre, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and 24/7 food market with made to order meals. The hotel is located close to terminals of the airport, Brunel University and Stockey Business Park.
London Heathrow is the third busiest airport in the world that serves many business and leisure travellers. Every year the airport is visited by as many as 70 million passengers. Heathrow serves 84 airlines that make flights from 80 countries and 184 destinations. Commenting the new deal, senior vice president of Hyatt in Europe, Africa and the Middle East Peter Norman mentioned they were really happy to make presence in one of most famous international hubs and considered that an opportunity to introduce the brand to international travellers.
Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes will become the fourth hotel by Hyatt in the UK. Other hotels in the portfolio include Hyatt Regency London-The Churchill, Andaz Liverpool Street London, and Hyatt Regency Birmingham.
