Fairmont Opens Its First Hotel in Malaysia

FRHI Hotels & Resorts will open its first hotel in Malaysia under the luxury Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand. The hotel will be opened in accordance with the management contract with KLCC Sdn Bhd. Fairmont Kuala Lumpur is set to open in 2017.

The new hotel will have as many as 62 stores and 750 spacious guestrooms. The hotel will feature all signature traits of Fairmont hotels such as executive lounge and Fairmont Gold – exclusive “hotel in a hotel” service. The territory of the hotel will include 6 dining facilities, almost 2,800 sq. m. of meeting and event space, a swimming pool, a health club, and a spa.

The first Fairmont hotel in Kuala Lumpur will be a part of the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) development zone – the place that is home to Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin buildings in the world. One of the buildings will provide space for the hotel, and the second tower will be dedicated to offices. The buildings will be connected by a special 6-storey retail podium. Fairmont Kuala Lumpur will be connected to the shopping centre and will occupy floors from 6 to above. The hotel’s guestrooms, thus, will have great views of KLCC Park and the second twin tower.
