Christmas is, without a doubt, one of the most beloved holidays, and special holiday decoration is an essential part of the holiday. Of course, hotels do not stay away from the Christmas buzz and offer their own unique decorations. For example, Andaz hotel in Liverpool has launched its own festival dedicated to the holiday. Called “Andaz Goes Ape”, the festival has totally changed the front window and entry of Andaz Liverpool Street London. All custom decorations, which were developed by Ravensbourne College, Old Spitalfields Market and local artist Bobby Patmore, feature a giant golden gorilla dressed as Santa, monkey decorations in the lobby and a giant “barrel of monkeys”.
Monkey theme has touched the hotel’s menu as well. In the evening, guests can treat themselves banana chips, mini banana bread and mulled wine. They are also welcome to order special Christmas menu turkey, quince chutney, and butternut squash soup. Finally, the hotel’s bar serves new monkey-themed cocktails Crème de Banane, Monkey Business, and Maker’s Monkey.
The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte hotel has chosen another theme for its Christmas decoration - cakes. It has made a huge 2.4m tall Christmas tree made of macarons. The holiday tree that is located in the lobby of the hotel was made out of 8,000 handmade French macarons. It took 58 hours for the hotel’s pastry team to assemble such an unusual holiday tree. In order to prepare such a large number of cookies, 10,000 eggs and 100 cups of sugar were used. Guests of the hotel are welcome to try various seasonal treats in the hotel’s bar sweets, pastries, and holiday teas.
