Dorsett Hospitality International, Hong-Kong headquartered hotel company, has announced its new ambitious plans regarding expansion in hotel market of Malaysia. The company plans to open as many as 1,000 guestrooms in this Asian country.
Dorsett Cheras hotel in Kuala Lumpur will become the pilot project of the hotel company. It will start operating already in the first quarter of 2014. The upscale hotel will be a part of the Cheras Sental trading center that is located in the southeast of Kuala Lumpur. Dorsett Cheras will be a large hotel with 319 guestrooms, dining facilities, a swimming pool, and a ballroom.
The second hotel in the country opened by the Hong Kong hotelier will be Dorsett Putrajaya. This 218 guestroom hotel will also become the first Dorsett-branded hotel in the administrative capital of Malaysia. In the third quarter of 2015 Dorsett Hartamas hotel in Kuala Lumpur will greet its first guests. The hotel will have 371 guestrooms and will be located in the Hartamas suburb of the city, which is known as an upscale part of Kuala Lumpur. Finally, in the end of 2015 the hotelier will rebrand the Sri Jati Hotel that will start operating as Dorsett’s d.Collection. This is going to be a boutique hotel with luxurious 154 guestrooms. The hotel will be located in the “Golden Triangle” central part of Kuala Lumpur, which is very popular with tourists.
Currently, Dorsett has five properties in Malaysia (these are hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Labuan, and Subang). The portfolio of the company includes 19 hotels in total (hotels in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Malaysia), and in 2015 the company will open its first two hotels in the UK.
