Next year, Holiday Inn Express plans to launch several new initiatives that are targeted at “modern travellers”. These changes will mostly concern food that is served in Holiday Inn Express hotels, but will include some other features. A rough list of changes was presented by the company at IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference that took place in Las Vegas.
Holiday Inn Express hotels have always been well known for their breakfasts. Starting from next year, the company plans to change the food served in order to make breakfasts healthier. They will include such items as Greek yogurt, oatmeal, and turkey sausages. Currently, the company tests 27 new food items in its hotels, and new dishes are to appear in future.
Another great change concerns sale of wine and beer. Earlier, Holiday Inn Express refrained from selling wine and beer. The company considered this their distinguishing feature. However, guest surveys clearly state that the chain’s clients want to buy these drinks, so it was decided to start the sale of beer and wine in a special way. Starting from January, Holiday Inn Express will sell beer and wine in single servings. The drinks will be available in sundry shops.
Finally, the company will improve its hotel prototype. The company will work during first 6 months of 2014 over development of a Holiday Inn Express hotel prototype. The prototype will include standardized décor, development and construction documents.
