Scandic Hotels, one of the leading Scandinavian hotel companies, is going to launch a brand new hotel chain that will operate under a new name HTL. Located primarily in central parts of big cities, HTL hotels will be targeted at modern travelers and will offer reasonable price tag, modern design and new digital solutions.
With continued urbanization and increased use of mobile technologies, demands of many travelers also change, and these demands do not coincide with those of traditional guests. That is the reason why Scandic decided to launch a separate hotel chain. The main idea is to make hotels without unnecessary services and additions, and offer reasonably priced service that contains everything modern travelers need.
HTL hotels will be opened in both new buildings and already existing hotels. Scandic is particularly interested in large office buildings. In just five years the company wants to open as many as 20 HTL hotels in largest Nordic cities. Currently, it is known only about 2 hotels under the new brand. These are hotels in Stockholm. One hotel will be located on Upplandsgatan at Norra Bantorget, and the other one on Kungsgatan. The company is in the process of negotiations with property owners regarding the opening of other hotels under the new brand.
The debut HTL hotel will be HTL Kungsgatan in Stockholm. The 275-guestroom property will greet its first guests in May 2014.
