The Goring in Belgravia hotel in London is rather a widely known place that is respected by most demanding travellers. Recently, the hotel has prepared something really new to please its guests. New Belgravia suites are decorated with fabulous antique silk.
The hotel has prepared seven suites, and all of them are made in traditional English style. Walls of the suites are decorated with traditional old silk. The silk has become the main theme of the suites and the main design element in them. The material was produced by the Gainsborough Silk Company located in Suffolk.
Each suite has its unique silk pattern. For example, suite 34 has somewhat decadent style thanks to Colefax and Fowler silk design. The yellow pattern was popular in the 1950s. Suite 54 is mostly made in white and turquoise. Here silk is made in the chinoiserie style that can be seen in the now restored Clayton House. Finally, suite 74 has warm plum shades as the main colour.
As the hotel’s management states, they tried to create a place that is both modern and traditional. New suites resemble a house of a 19th century duke packed with all modern conveniences.
