Rezidor keeps improving its hotels, making them more environment-friendly. In order to mark a hotel as “eco”, it must comply with a number of strict requirements that concern such aspects of work as water and waste management, energy saving technologies, and use of fair trade and organic products. Currently, as many as 220 Rezidor hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East are eco-labelled. The company wants to go further and plans all its hotels to be labeled as eco-friendly by 2015.
Commenting the news, the company’s President & CEO Wolfgang M. Neumann said they were really happy to have 2/3 of the portfolio eco-labelled. Rezidor is a sustainable organization, and so it even has Responsible Business Programme that is based on three main aspects Think Planet (actions targeted at minimizing environmental footprint), Think People (attention to guests and employees, and their safety), and Think Together (support of local communities).
Recently, Rezidor has labeled a bunch of hotels as “eco”. These are Radisson Blu Hotel Madrid Prado (Spain), Radisson Blu Resort Trysil (Norway), Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Heliopolis (Egypt), Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport (Norway), Radisson Blu Fredensborg Hotel Bornholm (Denmark), Radisson Blu Fredensborg Hotel Bornholm in Warsaw (Poland), and Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Alushta (Ukraine).
All hotels are eco-labelled by famous and respectable organizations, such as Green Key, Green Tourism Business Scheme (the UK), Nordic Swan (Norway), and Green Hospitality Award (Ireland).
