IHG has launched the new “Smart Thinking” platform for its Holiday Inn Express brand. Trying to make the brand even more tech savvy and sophisticated, the internationally famous hotelier has set up its own online platform where consumers can communicate with each other. The “Smart Thinking” program is all about the recently opened StaySmart.com website that is a place where visitors are welcome to communicate and share such content as videos, photos, and tweets. “The Daily Show” comedian and website correspondent Jason Jones is collaborating with IHG for the new campaign.
The website has several main parts, where consumers can submit various types of content, such as YouTube or Vine videos, Instagram photos and tweets (the latter should have the #staysmart tag included). There will also be weekly discussions with various questions, for example, “What is the best way to wrap a present?” or “What is the best advice of your dad?”. Jason Jones will also add videos and photos to the website.
Holiday Inn Express will also post fresh content. Smart Thinking posts will feature comedians from Second City Communications, CollegeHumor videos, and content from BuzzFeed. According to the company, they decided to launch the Smart Thinking platform after their Stay Smart advertising campaign had become very popular. Now the company wants its consumers to become a part of the Stay Smart story. Of course, the platform will offer more information about the Holiday Inn Express brand, and will showcase its concept and creativity.
