Cairn Hotel Group is to rebrand and refurbish two very famous and well-respected hotels in Scotland the Royal British Hotel in Edinburgh and the Station Hotel in Aberdeen. Both the hotels will be renewed in accordance with the global plan of the company that is a consequence of the £31.5 million partnership with HSBC.
The hotelier has already announced the cost of the investment into the two hotels - £6.5 million. Thanks to the company’s renovation program, it will become possible to create 200 additional new jobs. In should be mentioned that Cairn Hotel Group will be the organization that will manage the abovementioned hotels, but these properties will be branded by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). The two companies collaborate in this field, and Cairn Hotel Group is also the owner of the hotels in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. This year IHG will rebrand four hotels by Cairn, with Cairn keeping the management functions. These are the Royal British hotel in Edinburgh that will be rebranded as a Hotel Indigo, the Bellhouse hotel in Buckinghamshire that will become a Crowne Plaza hotel, the Chasley Hotel in Wakefield that will be turned into a Holiday Inn Express property, and, finally, the Station Hotel in Aberdeen that will also become a Crowne Plaza hotel.
Cairn is the owner of 21 hotels in the UK, five of which are located in Scotland. The company provides jobs for more than 1000 people in the country. The latest purchase of the hotelier is Queensferry hotel in Fife bought last month. The company manages hotels of different segments, from budget accommodations to high end hotels.
