Luxury hotels are not widespread in Manila, Philippines, so if you plan to make a visit to this city, you may be glad to know that there is a new name in the list of top quality accommodations. Raffles Makati that is located in Metro Manila claims to be the first luxury hotel in the area opened within 18 years! The hotel was technically opened in the end of last year, but the grand opening took place a couple of months ago. Currently, the hotel is fully functioning and welcomes new guests.
Raffles Makati is not a big hotel as it has only 32 suites. The design of the suites was made by the Singapore-based company Bent Severin & Associates. The influence of Asian style is clearly visible throughout the hotel, though the style is mostly contemporary with wood flooring, silk velvet, bright fabrics and hand-made rugs. Suites also feature huge floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful views of the city.
The luxurious hotel occupies the ninth and tenth floors of a mixed use complex. In addition to Raffles Makati, the building hosts two more hotels Raffles Residences (a complex consisting of 237 fully serviced apartments with one to four bedrooms) and Fairmont Makati hotel with 280 guestrooms.
Raffles Makati has some signature features of the brand, such as its famous Long Bar with 45-ft long bar stand, black tiled floor and tropic inspired décor. There are also an all-day dining restaurant, Writers Bar made in the form of a library, two lounge zones, and a pasty boutique. There are also several food and beverage outlets that serve guests of both Fairmont and Raffles hotels. Other facilities present in the territory of the hotel include two outdoor pools, a fitness centre, a business centre with meeting and event space, and Willow Stream Spa with five treatment rooms and a salon.
